Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education 3-Year Plan

This is a sample plan of study that shows all degree requirements and when they should be completed. There may be some flexibility on the sequencing of coursework, and you will work with an advisor each semester to make final selections. Full academic progress must be maintained each semester to complete the degree in three years.

Elementary Education majors are required to choose a minor for degree completion. The sample plan below incorporates Reading as a minor. This plan requires some credits to be taken in high school prior to enrolling at UE. Students should consult with their academic advisor for individualized planning.

Assumptions

  • Admission to Teacher Education - all students must complete the Admission to Teacher Education (ATE) process. This happens before enrolling in the internship courses (EDUC 418 and EDUC 419). This process includes a professional portfolio with artifacts from previous coursework and an interview with two faculty members.
  • No Harlaxton option – with this plan, a student would not be able to study abroad at Harlaxton.

*Assumes FYS 111 requirement has been met. Consult your academic advisor to ensure you will meet this requirement.
