UE Explore is an undergraduate research program designed to provide students and faculty the opportunity to work together on research projects. The ideas for the research projects may be generated by the students or the faculty. There are both summer projects and semester projects, which are performed during the academic year. For the on-campus summer projects, students receive a stipend ($3500 for 10 weeks), free residence housing during that period, and up to $2000 in grant money to pay for literature searches, books, and equipment. Students receive up to $1000 in grant money for the semester projects.
A wide range of projects have been funded that cover the humanities, arts, sciences, and professional schools. For example, students have studied the effect of the Internet on interpersonal relationships, the use of drugs or eating disorders on athletes, developed new understandings of ancient religious texts, and developed chemical techniques to improve our environment. Learn more about who is eligible and how you can obtain funds through our web site. Experience the excitement that comes with the discovery of new knowledge through your research project.
