Art
"As a therapist and an educator, I want my students to learn more than theory — I want them to gain a better understanding of themselves."
Valerie Milholland, MA
Instructor of Art Therapy and Art Education
The Department of Art at the University of Evansville offers a wide range of degree programs and specialization areas in the visual arts. Each is designed to encourage students in the development of personal ideas and to provide them with technical skills and aesthetic knowledge in preparation for a career in art or a related field.
Here are four great reasons to major in art at the University of Evansville:
You can choose from a variety of majors including ceramics, sculpture, art education, photography, pre-art therapy, and visual communication design.
Scholarships are available specifically for art students based on portfolio reviews.
A licensed art therapist is on faculty to work with pre-art therapy students.
Our students have constant access to studio space, including Macintosh computers, printmaking, metals, and photography labs.
