Civil Engineering
Civil engineering is a profession that serves the public through the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of public and private facilities. The civil engineering curriculum at UE prepares students to meet present and future challenges in the profession.
Civil engineering students have many opportunities to apply the skills they are learning through internships, co-ops, project-oriented classes, and participation in American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) design competitions. The classes are small and are taught by PhD faculty. Students are provided both academic challenges and support.
Reasons to major in civil engineering at the University of Evansville include:
The civil engineering program is accredited by EAC-ABET.
Civil engineers are in demand. Graduates accept jobs in government, private practice, construction, and the utility industry.
UE civil engineering seniors consistently exceed the national passing rate on the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
Civil engineering students have the opportunity to study abroad at Harlaxton College, UE's campus in Grantham, England.
Challenging senior capstone projects involve students in unique real-world projects. The 2008-2009 projects involved designing a church and athletic facilities in the Dominican Republic.
