Master of Science in Education

The Master of Science in Education at the University of Evansville is a unique and rigorous 14-month program offering experienced teachers the opportunity to become even better teachers.

Each June, a new cohort of students launches into the classroom- and application-based curriculum, which was designed to help practicing teachers gather, examine, and use multiple forms of assessment data to inform instruction for ALL students. For the next 14 months - comprising two summer sessions and two full academic semesters - the cohort participants learn skills to help improve their students' achievement. They learn to use research-based strategies in the classroom; they learn to use data to inform and improve their lessons; and they create classroom research, inquiry, and assessments designed to continually examine student performance. Throughout their program, students learn to be more effective instructional leaders, mentors, and models.

"The Master of Science in Education at the University of Evansville is a unique program. Its strength is its focus on classroom-centered and application-based learning. The curriculum that stems from that focus is both rigorous and exciting, because teachers in the program will find that the lessons they learn here can be immediately applied to their own classrooms."
