The University of Evansville's creative writing and English programs offer broad-based curricula that introduce you to the many facets of composition and literature while still giving you the intimacy of knowing all your classmates and professors. We offer majors and minors in literature, writing, and secondary education.
Here are four good reasons to major in creative writing or English at the University of Evansville:
Creative writing and literature — Evansville is one of the few schools in the country to offer a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in creative writing and offers excellent courses in English, American, and world literature.
Outstanding teachers — several faculty members have been named Teacher of the Year.
Hands-on experience — our students have contributed as editors and writers to journals such as The Evansville Review, The Ohio River Review, The Formalist, Evansville Living, and Measure.
Graduate school preparation — our graduates have been accepted to graduate and professional programs, including Johns Hopkins University, New York University, University of Massachusetts Amherst, George Mason University, Harvard, University of St. Andrews, and Emerson.
