Foreign Language Study Abroad and Scholarships
Study Abroad
Foreign language majors are required to study abroad to enhance their linguistic and cross cultural skills. Along with the Department of Foreign Language faculty, the Office of Study Abroad provides outstanding resources to help each student find the language program that best fits in terms of country, cost, location, housing, academics, and language level. Available partner programs include summer term, fall semester, spring semester, or academic year language study at sites throughout the world. In recent years, the department has sponsored summer programs in Latin America and Asia.
Scholarships
Foreign language, archaeology, and international studies majors receive a $500 tuition scholarship to help defray the additional cost of a semester abroad. This tuition scholarship is awarded only once and is provided in addition to other scholarships and grants.
