Health Services Alumni Profiles
Matt Snodgrass
Class of 2006
The health services administration major at the University of Evansville ensures that students gain real-world experience. For Matt Snodgrass, those experiences helped him determine his career path. "Health services administration is a diverse program that allows you to explore numerous areas of health care."
Matt's first job after graduation was in purchasing for an area hospital. "I dealt with contract negotiation, ensuring we stayed in compliance, and evaluated vendors, distributors, and projects in order to decrease costs without jeopardizing quality." Matt credits his internship at St. Edmonds Care Home in England with paving the way to securing this position.
Neil Flick
Class of 2009
Neil Flick knew he wanted to be in health care, but wasn't sure which area was best for him. "I met with Dr. Stroube, the director of the health services administration program, and knew that health services administration was the right fit for me."
While at UE, Neil interned for Mercy Ships, which was docked in Sierra Leone. As a result of this experience, he is now employed with the company as a programs project manager for hospital standards. "In this position I am responsible for hospital operating standards and accreditation for the world's largest non-governmental hospital ship, the M/V Africa Mercy."
"For me, UE's positive and encouraging education, combined with the outstanding array of student organizations, fulfilled UE's purpose to 'prepare students to engage the world as informed, ethical, and productive citizens.' I cannot thank UE enough for the experiences gained during my college career."
