For Lora Becker, the best thing about teaching is interacting with students in the classroom, in research labs, and on campus. "I want to encourage their ambitions by exposing them to new ideas and opportunities."
Becker enjoys hearing students' success stories. "I have alumni who send me their ideas via e-mail. It's as if they never left campus, but are still stopping by to share ideas and discoveries."
Becker is currently working with psychology, neuroscience, and biology students in researching the effects of phytoestrogen exposure on the prenatal and neonatal rat. "I like that moment when students grasp the material. Their experiences in the neuroscience program will help them to understand and always reach for their potential."
