Theatre
"UE is like having conservatory training within a liberal arts and sciences environment."
Rutina Wesley
Class of 2001
The University of Evansville Department of Theatre's preprofessional approach to theatre training has earned it a reputation as one of the premier undergraduate theatre programs in the nation. Students receive extensive training through classroom and production experiences in acting, design and technology, directing, stage management, theatre education, and theatre management.
Here are four great reasons to major in theatre at the University of Evansville:
For the past 15 years, the Department of Theatre has been ranked as one of the top 16 undergraduate programs in the country by the ARCO Performing Arts Guide.
Only 40 students are accepted into the program each year from more than 1,500 auditions/interviews held nationwide.
You will have your choice of majors: performance, design and technology, theatre generalist, theatre management, theatre education, and stage management.
The Department of Theatre has been selected to perform eight times at the national Kennedy Center American College of Theatre Festival in Washington, D. C.
