Academic Quality Profiles
Shelby George
Junior, Business Administration with concentrations in marketing and management
Marion, Indiana
Shelby George came to UE because of the business program. "It is AACSB accredited, has small class sizes, and it's easy to get to know the faculty. I'm interested in pursuing corporate law, so the liberal arts classes have helped by framing and providing an overall view."
As co-chair of homecoming, member of the dance team, sorority member, and more, Shelby knows that her activities have helped her be a better person and leader while teaching her how to handle the unexpected. "I've learned how to adjust to different situations."
Adam Dillman
Senior, Physics and Biology
Evansville, Indiana
With an interest in biophysics, Adam Dillman worked with faculty members to develop a plan that would prepare him for graduate school. "I am majoring in both biology and physics to ensure that I take the classes I need. My schedule has been intense, but it has taught me how to handle stress by working through it. Plus, the faculty are great. They are easy to talk to, very accessible, and I've developed a friendship with my advisor."
In addition to his course work, Adam has spent the past two summers working with John Stamm, physics professor, on research. "We are making mutant versions of a particular protein and studying them using spectroscopy. Being involved in research has taught me how to approach problems. The actual hands-on experience in the lab working with the equipment has made me feel prepared for grad school."
