Given today’s intense interconnectedness, rapid pace of change, and the growing complexity of challenges and opportunities businesses face, innovation and creative problem solving are becoming increasingly essential for progress and success. Join us for a workshop that will help teams develop a process and culture of creative problem solving.

Session Overview

  • Morning session:
    Participants will learn the core competencies of creativity and experiment with a variety of tools and techniques to refine their creative problem solving and innovation skills.
  • Networking Lunch
  • Afternoon session:
    Teams will apply their newly acquired skill set to a real problem or challenge of the team’s choosing. The session will conclude with each team developing a deliverable for their company to further pursue. Teams will have the option to be coached

Expert Workshop Facilitator

Andy Gerhart, PhD

Andy Gerhart, PhD
Associate Professor of Engineering,
Lawrence Technological University

A University of Evansville alumnus, Andy Gerhart has been facilitating creative problem solving workshops and courses for many years, coaching teams on innovation, creativity, and cross-disciplinary group dynamics. He facilitates LTU’s Innovation Encounter, a design challenge partnership with industry. He is also the director of the Thermal Science Laboratory and Aerodynamics Laboratory, coordinator of the Certificate of Energy and Environmental Management Program and Aeronautical Engineering Minor/Certificate, and chair of the Leadership Curriculum Implementation Committee. Gerhart earned his PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of New Mexico and his BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Evansville.
