Choosing to study at UE was the best decision I’ve made in my education career. Studying in the University’s Schroeder School of Business is a great opportunity. The professors there don’t just excel at being teachers and mentors or having experience in their field, but they also help us develop the necessary skills needed for our careers later in life, and they assist us in finding the best internships now. Another great advantage is that this is a small university, so you get to know the professors personally and are able to contact them with any concerns you have.

However, the UE experience doesn’t stop there. There are more than 150 student-run organizations on campus, which makes it easy to find a place where you can improve yourself and explore. I joined Delta Omega Zeta sorority, and in a short period of time, I know I have made friends for life. My sisters help me keep learning about myself with their encouragement and support. Thanks to them and my professors, I find myself braver and happier every day. I have no doubt that by the time I graduate, I’ll be the person I am meant to be.

There is just so much to say about my UE experience. My accounting and business professors have been awesome! They have a way of making you love material that would otherwise be seen as complicated. By structuring their lesson plans in accordance to real life accounting experiences, students are motivated to excel not only in their core courses but also in their electives. These professors who, just like students, have their own busy agendas, will stop whatever they are doing to listen and help you with school work as well as to advise you on whatever career inquiries you may have.

With the abundance of extracurricular activities that the University offers, a home away from home is created for you. During my time at the University, I have joined the International Student Club, Black Student Union, and I am also proud to say I was part of the founding the African Students Association and served as the club's first treasurer. I also participated in basketball intramural sports, which was always a relaxing end to a class-filled day.

I love UE because it has shaped me into the adult that I am today. Through my internship experiences, my involvement in school activities, and my study abroad adventures, my attitude on life is one of a more exposed, informed, and driven individual.

My four years at UE have been life changing, and I would honestly do it all over again.

Studying at the University of Evansville is the best decision I ever made. As an international student majoring in finance, I have had several chances to participate in projects that connect me with the real world. For example, I had the opportunity to invest, and manage a $1 million diversified stock portfolio as part of an investment simulation competition. I also assisted in the development of a strategic marketing plan so that the team would be able to financially support UE students in a four-week excavation in Israel for the Jezreel Expedition. In addition, I went to the UK with professors to research local businesses and the European debt crisis during the summer of 2012.

Being a member of the finance club has been another real-world opportunity because I will have a chance to visit three stock exchange markets in Chicago. Moreover, the International Club, International Bazaar and Banquet, and I-House have let me learn about different cultures and taste their food without leaving campus. I love UE because UE is like a big family. I would not trade this opportunity for anything in the world.

Thinking of what career path I wanted to pursue for a professional life was one of the hardest decisions I had to make thus far. A year ago engineering seemed to be the ideal major, but after taking a few classes, I decided it wasn’t right for me. Through the support of my academic advisor and professors I was able to switch my major. They gave me guidance on making the right decision, plus they made the process very comfortable.

Through the guidance of the University of Evansville, I decided to pursue a major in economics and finance, and I couldn’t be happier. Being in the business world fits me; I look forward to gaining real world experiences through my professors’ insight and knowledge. I’m sure UE was the best decision I have ever made; I look forward to a bright future because of UE.

As an international student at UE, I have had many invaluable experiences. I'm a global business major and the University's Schroeder School of Business really focuses on hands-on training. I've had the opportunity to start my own business, allowing me to test marketing and entrepreneurial strategies that improved my knowledge of my major. All of these opportunities have provided me with real life experience for my future career plans.

While at the University of Evansville I've also been able to study abroad twice: once for a full semester at UE's British campus, Harlaxton College in England, and once for a couple of weeks in Hong Kong and Singapore. I had the chance to compare and contrast doing business in the US, EU, and Asia, but my greatest times as a student at UE have been in Evansville. My fellow students here have become like family and as an international student, that's the most valuable thing I could get from a university.

I came to the United States for college knowing that I would major in the field of technology, which is my passion. At UE, not only did I find the perfect major for me, but the caring professors and friendly community exceeded my expectations of the Midwestern campus. As an international student, I've been encouraged to share my culture with my American fellow students as well as with the international community, which is surprisingly diverse. Majoring in management information systems at a liberal arts school is the best decision I've ever made. Not only does my coursework combine business with technology, but I've also taken courses in economics, political science and even fine art. This type of education guarantees that by the time I graduate I'll be able to engage the world as a businessman, a software engineer and an open-minded individual with a mission to better my industry and take initiative in this inter-connected world we live in.

As a young adult and an international student, the stress of college has put much pressure on me. Looking back, I realize no matter how well my background has prepared me for this life, there was only one way for me to learn about it: experience. And when it comes to experience, the University of Evansville has brought me more than I expected. Indeed, I could not dream of a better academic college to study at. Its small campus offers you the opportunity to better interact, one to one, with your teachers and to socialize easily. Also, it offers academic based scholarships. In addition, it offers an honors program that helps you stretch your knowledge beyond the class walls. Although UE strongly projects an image of a strict academic college, there are still plenty of activities and parties to encourage people to get away from their books and enjoy the college experience. Yet, what amazed me about this school is its diversity among students and its study abroad program. As an international student, I may say with confidence that UE has made it easy for me to adapt to life in the US and at college by offering me the possibility to interact with people from all over the world, from having a host family to participating in different sorts of events on campus.

I started out as a computer science major; it was a very challenging path, but I enjoyed it. I changed my major to management information systems due to the fact that I realized I did not want to program for the rest of my life. It was a hard decision, but thanks to the help of my former computer science adviser and current MIS adviser, it ended up being a swift and easy process. For both majors the professors are really knowledgeable and helpful, always willing to assist with any problems, or any specific issues you might have regarding your classes. There are tutors available for basically any class, and the service is free (a great help in saving money). I am really happy with the path I walked, because even though I am not going to end up being a computer science major, I learned new skills and met great people along the way. And I was also able to find my true calling.

The staff here is terrific, also very kind and willing to help you with any problems you might have. The campus is really nice, with vast green areas to relax, as well as social areas to hang out with friends. Usually the students that attend UE are kind and friendly, and through the orientation week you get to meet many people that might end up being really close friends of yours. My overall experience at UE thus far has been great!

Small classes, a friendly environment and passionate professors are the first things that come to mind when someone asks me about the University of Evansville. UE provides students with exceptional educational experiences and the ability and confidence to succeed in life. I am majoring in accounting, and all of my professors are amazing. They not only are passionate about their teaching but also have experience working as accountants, therefore, they teach us based on their real-life experiences not just theories. I also attend Accounting Club, where we meet a lot of professional accountants, and begin to understand their experiences. Many of them are UE alumni, who have achieved high positions and inform us of their experiences. Meeting them helps me learn how to stand apart from other accountants in the job search and professional environment. Professors also advise us to take the CPA exam. Additionally, UE has a great setup for career preparation and placement. Every experience I have had at UE is remarkable. Attending the University of Evansville is one of the best decisions that I have ever made.
