Four years ago I came to UE as an undergraduate student not knowing anyone or anything about the city of Evansville. That all changed quickly as I made a lot of new friends from all over the United States and from all over the world. The students, faculty and staff here are very friendly and helpful, which was vital in helping me settle in quickly.

The University of Evansville offers many fields of study; I am pursuing a bachelor's degree in athletic training. The University's Athletic Training Education Program recently received a 10 year re-accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). UE is a small NCAA division I school which has 6 Men's teams and 8 Women's teams, most of which compete in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC). A staff of 3 full time Certified Athletic Trainers is in charge of clinical education and supervising the students in the Athletic Training program of about 50 students. Being a small school I was able to get the hands on experience from the very beginning of entering the program. Being able to get hands on experience in a NCAA division I school from my freshman year is something I feel that I would not have gotten until my junior or senior year at bigger division I schools.

I am very pleased with my decision to come to UE and looking back, I have no regrets whatsoever. I have made many lasting friendships, which I will cherish forever.

Attending the University of Evansville has been an amazing experience for me. When I had just joined, it took me sometime to completely adjust, but once I did, my life started to change in ways I never would have imagined. UE has provided countless opportunities for me to grow physically, socially and mentally and I have made sure to seize all opportunities to the best of my knowledge.

My education has been great; I have learned a whole lot in so little time. I changed my major from finance and management to nursing last fall. I knew I wanted to change but I was not sure if it was the right thing to do but I finally took the risk and changed anyway. I loved business but I love nursing a lot more. I love nursing because it is more interpersonal and practical, especially since I have a thirst for helping people and making their lives better. The content and faculty are really great. The faculty ensures that everyone has a holistically abundant experience. There's no doubt that you will get beyond your money's worth from the program. The extra-curricular activities are plentiful and very beneficial. I have served on more than one executive board and I am currently a member of about five organizations. One of my favorite things about my experience here is that the people in Evansville both on and off campus are amazing. They are warm, very welcoming and resourceful. I believe that anyone can succeed here; all it takes is determination and pro-activeness. Know what you want, and make sure you get exactly that.

I could endlessly write about how amazing my university experience here has been but in summary, I honestly would not trade my experience here for the world.

As a freshman at the University of Evansville, I chose to major in exercise science for the opportunity it gives me to pursue a career in physical therapy. Physical therapy is a profession that encompasses all of my interests and provides many benefits. I love the University of Evansville because of the welcoming environment and the friendliness of the people; staff, students and alumni.

My first semester at the University of Evansville was a great experience, I started taking many classes that were related to my major and found them to be extremely interesting and challenging. I experienced some difficulties in one of my classes and the International Students Office and Counseling Department provided me with solutions and all the tools necessary to improve in the class. Courses at a college level are much more demanding than in high school, and this sometimes posed a problem for me. I learned to adapt my study habits from high school to my college level courses. All the help I needed to solve this problem has been provided by the University of Evansville, through different departments, like counseling and academics for example. This has helped me focus more on how I should approach a class and study for it. Supplemental instruction is also available for challenging classes and helped me because it was more individualized, as well as tutors provided by the university for students who are having trouble in certain classes. If you are seeking a degree that relates science to your interests, the University of Evansville is the right place for you.

Making college plans can be cumbersome at times, and sometimes people tend to get mild anxiety when they are in a new environment. The University of Evansville has been home to me for the past three years. I have had a lot of incredible experiences both on and off campus. I am a nursing major and what I like most about the nursing program at UE is that the faculty is dedicated and focused on the success of every student. The classes are small and instructors know students by their names, this really help to promote one on one attention to each student. Through nursing, I work at a local hospital as a student nurse and my experience at the hospital has affected my life positively. I am more conscious of things around me; my knowledge towards healthcare has grown so much. Additionally, the student nurse position has enabled me to apply skills gained in the classroom to real life situations. I also like the fact that students from all majors have an opportunity to study for a semester at Harlaxton College, UE's campus in England. There are a ton of things to do on campus since the University of Evansville has over 160 student organizations and therefore you can enjoy your time on campus. UE is a stepping stone to success; seize the opportunity when it knocks on your door.
