Advisors serve as mentors and work with students to design an undergraduate schedule that fulfills the admission requirements for medical and other professional schools. Students may choose any undergraduate major at the University of Evansville as long as they complete the recommended prerequisite courses for their desired health profession. Students are encouraged to use the undergraduate years to broaden their education and to explore areas of interest prior to starting professional school. A few examples of compatible majors for many of the graduate level health professions are biology, chemistry, neuroscience, exercise science, and public health.

Research Opportunities

In addition to challenging course work, students have the opportunity to pursue research. Through the UExplore Undergraduate Research Program, students may submit proposals for research conducted independently or in collaboration with members of the faculty. UExplore provides funding support for projects that occur either during the school year or during the summer. Faculty members help students identify venues for presenting their research results at conferences aimed at undergraduate scholars.
