UE Department of Nursing Plans Baby Shower for New Simulated Babies

Posted: Wednesday, April 9, 2014

The University of Evansville Dunigan Department of Nursing and Health Science is planning a baby shower! The party, which is free and open to the public, is set for Thursday, April 10, at 4:00 p.m. in the Dunigan Nursing Simulation Laboratory in UE’s Graves Hall. This special celebration is in honor of the department’s new quintuplets - five simulated babies that exhibit medical issues such as drug affects, fetal alcohol affects and special needs.

Cake, punch and mints will be served at the event and the new babies will be named. The department already has a simulated healthy baby named Esteban.

The new simulated babies were purchased with a $3,500 “Committed to Compassion: Healthier Babies in Vulnerable Populations” grant from Southwest Indiana Area Health Education Center (AHEC).
