UE Study Abroad Program Nationally Ranked Open Doors Ranks UE Among Top 10
Will you study outside the U.S. during your college experience? Fifty-three percent of UE students study abroad. This ranks UE in the top ten in the nation for the percentage of students who study abroad by Open Doors 2007. "We take a great deal of pride in our study abroad programs," said UE President Stephen Jennings. "The experiences our students gain from traveling and studying abroad - whether at our British campus, Harlaxton College, or anywhere else in the world - give our students a cultural awareness and well-rounded education that can't be replicated in a traditional classroom." While study abroad is on the rise nationally, the average percentage of undergraduate students who participate remains at 8.5 percent. "At UE," stated Earl Kirk, director of study abroad, "we have many parents and students who say that the chance to study abroad was a decisive factor in choosing to attend UE. Study abroad teaches us to be more open-minded and to listen to the viewpoints of others - we see things in different ways when we have the chance to study other cultures." View more UE rankings.

School of Business Administration to offer Management Information Systems
Starting the Spring 2008 semester, the University of Evansville Schroeder Family School of Business Administration will offer a new specialization track: Management Information Systems. According to Pete Rosen, assistant professor in the School of Business Administration, this new specialization bridges the gap between computer science and business. "People trained in this field have a strong understanding of business and a knowledge of computer science, giving them the unique ability to provide organizations with their information needs." UE student Sonya Anaya mentions there are several jobs available for students with this specialization including systems analysts, business system designers, and company Chief Information Officers. "There are a lot of opportunities with this specialization. I want to study Management Information Systems because there is a great need for people who know how to work with information and create databases for companies.
