Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering
The University of Evansville invites applications for two Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering positions, beginning January 1, 2015 or August 1, 2015. Applicants should be committed to outstanding undergraduate teaching, have excellent English skills, and be dedicated to project-based learning. One position seeks applicants with primary expertise in the thermal sciences, to teach courses in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer. One position seeks applicants with primary expertise in machine design and dynamic systems. Expertise in biomechanics would be a plus. Candidates must be able to teach foundational engineering courses, including statics, dynamics, instrumentation, and numerical methods. The successful candidates will participate in the program’s Integrated Design Sequence as a faculty advisor. Appropriate scholarly/professional development activities and university service are expected. A B.S. in mechanical engineering or a related discipline and an earned doctorate are preferred; an MSME with professional registration (P.E.) and significant industrial experience will be considered. The program is accredited by EAC-ABET.
