Why Evansville, IN?
Where is Evansville?
Located on the beautiful Ohio River, Evansville has grown to become the third largest city in Indiana (with more than 171,000 people in the greater Evansville area). Evansville has it all
We like to think of the city as having the best of a big city mixed with a small town. We have a long, rich history, abounding with historic sights and charming residential areas. People care about living here. In fact, Evansville was recently named an All-America City by the National Civic League - an honor given to only ten cities a year!
At the same time, Evansville thrives as a bustling center of activity. There are all of the opportunities of a major metropolitan area-a thriving arts community, featuring the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra, the Evansville Civic Theatre, and the Evansville Museum of Arts, History and Science, along with the University's own excellent music and theatre performances.
There are numerous opportunities to cheer for your favorite teams, including Otters Baseball and UE's own Division I Purple Aces.
