QUICK FACTS

Parent volunteers from all over the country are needed! Parents attend college fairs, serve as regional ambassadors or resources for prospective UE parents and new UE parents, host or attend receptions for students and parents, and more.

Many of Parents Association activities and events give you the opportunity to mingle informally with other parents, alumni, administrators and faculty while talking about your positive UE experiences. Either on campus or in your home region, you'll enjoy meeting other members of the University of Evansville community while making a difference.

We would love to know what your interests are and help you become an active member of our Parents Association. Each of our committees offers a variety of activities and events in which to participate, and all parent involvement contributes to the Evansville Experience in ways that benefit each student. It's a great way to stay connected to the campus and become a part of the University community, while meeting great people and making a difference. Please check all of the following volunteer service committee activities and events you would like to participate in: Admission Support Assist with student recruitment activities, serve as ambassadors of UE and provide parent-to-parent information about the mission of the University and the Evansville Experience. Members join LEAGUE (Leading Edge Alumni and parents Guiding UE) and may help at regional college fairs, recruitment events, award programs or receptions, as well as through direct contact with parents of prospective and current applicants in their home regions. Career Services Help to create and maintain networks of internship and cooperative education opportunities throughout the country for UE students. Serve as ambassadors of the University's commitment to intensive career service and educate others about the strong professional advantages these opportunities provide to students in the competitive post-graduation world. Members may join the Partners in the Evansville Experience program to provide career mentoring and to provide resources about career and internship opportunities in their geographical areas. Parents' Fund Serve as ambassadors for the Parents' Fund at UE and advise on effective methods of creating knowledge about the Parents' Fund, as well as advise on creative ways to communicate to parents about unrestricted funds and their importance to the mission of the university. Assist with drafting creative solicitations, attend solicitation receptions and information sessions in their geographical areas, or call parents to offer information and encouragement to contribute to the Fund. Parents Association Communication and Event Support Advise on topics of interest to parents for inclusion in the Parents Connections bi-annual newsletter; advise on the content of the parent Web site; advise on the structure and content of interest and use to parents for inclusion in the Parents Handbook; generate ideas for parent activities and help coordinate parent involvement at Family Weekend and SOAR events, and other events as needed.
