Field work has been a big part of Deanna Taylor's University of Evansville experience. "I've been on two digs: one in Arizona and one in Cyprus. I received an award which paid for my tuition, airfare, and room and board for the Cyprus summer program. I'm glad my professors encouraged me to be involved in these programs as they were great learning experiences." Deanna also studied abroad in Australia and plans to spend the summer in Peru. "It was important to me to step out of my comfort zone and make the most of my UE education. Professors here are very helpful and get to know you on a personal level. I feel as though they treat me as an equal." It's the everyday events that have made UE enjoyable for Deanna. "I'm busy with tutoring, Mortar Board, Phi Kappa Phi, and my sorority. With my study abroad experiences, I learned how to depend upon myself, and working as a tutor has helped reinforce that my plan to be a professor is a good fit for me." |
