Alan Kaiser, PhD
Assistant Professor of Archaeology
"Evansville students have 'ganas,' a desire and passion about being here. They aren't just 'going' to college; they are 'coming' to college - excited, enthusiastic, and ready to learn."
That is the best way Professor Alan Kaiser has to describe his students at the University of Evansville. It's a word he learned during his many years of excavating in Empuries, Spain. Professor Kaiser teaches many of his classes in a lecture and discussion format. This allows students to participate in the learning process.
"Some of the best observations in classes come from students, not from my lectures. I have read these quotes many times, but my students always expose a new perspective. As a professional, I have been trained to look at things in a specific way. It is intriguing to hear the students' opinions as they view these topics with no preconceived notions.
