The University of Evansville’s Department of English offers a broad-based curriculum that exposes you to the many facets of composition and literature, while still giving you the intimacy of knowing all your classmates and professors. We offer majors in minors in literature, writing, and secondary education.
Here are four great reasons to major in English at the University of Evansville:
-
Creative writing - Evansville is one of the few schools in the country to offer a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in this area of study.
-
Great teachers - several faculty members have been named Teacher of the Year.
-
Hands-on experience - our students have submitted their work to such publications such as the Evansville Review, the Literary Journal, the Formalist, Evansville Living, and Performing Songwriter Magazine.
-
Graduate school preparation - our graduates are accepted to top creative writing programs, such as Johns Hopkins University, New York University, University of Massachusetts Amherst, George Mason University, and Emerson.
