Chelsea Button
Valparaiso, Indiana
Whether tutoring, participating in a campus-wide snowball fight on the Sesquicentennial Oval, or participating in numerous campus clubs and organizations, Chelsea Button makes certain she stays involved. "As a freshman, I held leadership positions in two clubs, and since then I've been a member of the Homecoming Committee, Phi Alpha Delta [law fraternity], and a supreme court justice for the Student Government Association. Plus, with UE Gives Back, I've had the opportunity to volunteer in the community."
Chelsea encourages students to work with the faculty to secure an internship early in their college career. "Completing an internship soon after your sophomore year will give you great experience in the field. This summer, I'm interning as a paralegal, which will allow me to start developing my portfolio. That will help a lot when I'm in law school."
With a major in legal studies and minors in business administration and criminal justice, Chelsea is well-prepared for her future career. "I've enjoyed my classes and the one-on-one interaction with faculty members. The experiences I've gained here have equipped me for law school and my future goal of being a judge."
