Physics Scholarships
In addition to University aid, the Department of Physics offers scholarships for students who major in physics. To apply for the Hovda Scholarship in Physics, contact the chair of the department by telephone (812-488-2672) or apply online at physics.evansville.edu.
Undergraduate Research through Internships
The Department of Physics encourages participation in UExplore, the University’s undergraduate research program in which students complete research projects with a faculty member. Another popular option is to spend a summer completing an NSF-funded research experience for undergraduates (REU) at a major research center. Our students have interned at Deaconess Hospital, Argonne National Laboratory, MIT’s Haystack Observatory, Michigan State University's Superconducting Cyclotron Lab, the National Solar Observatory, Georgia Tech, and several NASA research centers.
