psych 2Neuroscience is an interdisciplinary program for students interested in exploring how the nervous stustem regulates the thoughts and behaviors of humans. Students in this major are prepared for careers in health-related fields such as medicine or for graduate training in disciplines within behavioral, cognitive, or molecular neuroscience. Career options include working in a university, research institute, pharmaceutical company, or hospital setting.

Students in the program are able to study and investigate the organization of the nervous system and behavior. Topics studied include:

·        Microscopic structure of the brain and its biological processes

·        Role of the brain in behavioral processes

·        Cognitive aspects of brain development

Numerous research opportunities are available with faculty in each of the participating departments, as well as opportunities at other institutions.
