Jessie Kern
Class of 2004
As a team member in the basic research standards department at rsc, Jessie Kern routinely utilizes the skills she learned as a student at the University of Evansville. A global marketing research company whose offices are located in Evansville, Cincinnati, Latin America, Hong Kong and Europe, rsc tests television ads before they air. "In my department, we ensure that the test measurements are valid and reliable."
Kern chose to attend UE after her campus visit. "During my visit, I stayed overnight in a residence hall and sat in on a class. The professors were so supportive and encouraging." Kern's experiences as a student confirmed that she made the right choice in a college. "As a sociology major, I had the opportunity to work side-by-side with Professor Pieper. I learned the entire scope of the research process - from forming a hypothesis to presenting our findings at a national conference."
Kern's experience in research at UE gained her an internship which then turned into her position at rsc. "The research I performed at UE has been invaluable to me in my career. Almost daily I am writing and updating research briefs and studies. All this, plus the ability to interact publicly and interpersonally with others has given me the skills that I need to succeed."
