Evidence of the University's commitment to international education programs is the International Institute which was developed and implemented to enhance the educational opportunities of our international friends who speak English as a second language.
The International Institute is the international division for the intensive English program, English language credit courses, custom designed programs, and university-to-university agreements.
Special Programs
The International Institute offers credit and non-credit programs and seminars to meet the needs of specific groups or individuals. These programs can be implemented on our Evansville campus, our British campus at Harlaxton College, or in a host country. Examples include short- and long-term specially designed programs for the following:
- Customized training in the areas of bank management, finance, economics, computing science, and communication
- English Language Development
- Intercultural Experiences/Studies
- Global Awareness
- TOEFL and TOEIC Preparation
- External Degree Programs
- Bachelor of Liberal Studies Degree Program
- Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Certificate Program
The International Institute continues to expand its appreciation of our global friends through articulation and affiliated sister-school agreements with colleges and universities.
Individuals may live in University residence halls for the entire year. The International Institute can arrange housing for special programs which may involve shorter periods of time. Homestay weekends and field trips are extracurricular activities which can also be included in a custom-designed program.
Formal International Agreements
Diversity of the campus is important at the University of Evansville. Students from throughout the world come to UE to study in full-time undergraduate programs or through intensive language and culture study through the University's Intensive English Center.
