Two-thirds of University of Evansville students study abroad, making us one of the top five comprehensive universities in the United States for student travel.
UE has study abroad programs in all parts of the world. In recent years our students have canvassed the globe, visiting every continent but Antarctica! We let you decide where you want to study and we work one-on-one to get you there. We want to make your study abroad experience as convenient and affordable as we can. In fact, when you travel abroad all of your state, federal, and University aid will go with you.
Whether you are global business or biochemistry, you can study abroad at the University of Evansville. Regardless of your major, our liberal arts and sciences curriculum makes it possible for all students to build an international experience into their studies.
"It's so amazing that not only the international studies majors study abroad. It’s the chemistry and engineering majors, education majors – majors you think would have nothing to do with studying abroad, but the interest is so strong here. At other schools someone might say, 'Oh, you're studying abroad?' But here it's, 'Oh, you're not studying abroad?'"

Here are a few frequently asked questions about UE's study abroad program:
When can I study abroad?
When you study abroad depends mainly on your major. Some majors allow more flexibility than others. Specifically, many humanities majors can study abroad almost any time their sophomore, junior, or senior year. Engineering and science majors make plans early to make it easier to go abroad for a semester or academic year. Most of the time, it is no problem for you to go abroad and still graduate in four years. Even physical therapy students can study abroad at UE. These students have done clinical experiences in England, Switzerland, and Holland.
How can I find out about study abroad opportunities?
We will work one-on-one with you to set up your ideal study abroad experience. All UE students are welcome to look through our up-to-date files, organized by country. Once you have chosen several potential approved programs, you can contact your academic advisor to start planning your international experience!
What about cost?
We want to make your study abroad experience as easy and affordable as possible. If a study abroad program is approved by UE, then you will be billed by UE. All financial aid, (with the exception of work study, which only applies to Harlaxton College), will go with you when you study abroad.
Federal regulations require that if a program costs less than UE, then we must charge UE rates in order to apply our financial aid. If your program costs more than UE, you must pay the extra amount. However, you can still be billed by UE.
Overall, studying abroad will require you to budget wisely. Airfare and travel, not to mention cities with high costs of living, are all things to watch out for. However, with careful selection, most students find studying abroad is less expensive than they expected. And the benefits and rewards gained during their experience far outweigh any costs.
