Summer Sessions I and II Academic Policies
Enrollment Policies
- Students are limited to a maximum enrollment of three courses (maximum 10 credit hours) during a single summer regardless of the number of sessions or universities attended. If Current UE students want to take more than 10 credits, they must complete the overload petition form and the student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
- Students planning to take courses at another institution must have written approval on a transfer credit request form signed in advance by the student’s academic advisor and the registrar. Learn more...
Audits and Pass/Fail
Students wishing to register for a Summer I & II course as audit or pass/fail must declare such no later than May 13, 2013 for Summer I and June 17 for Summer II at 4:30 PM CST. Be sure to note on the add/drop registration form your intention to audit or take the course pass/fail. No exceptions will be made to registration deadlines.
UE degree students should understand the academic policy as it relates to the applicability of courses taken for pass/fail. Academic policies are available in the UE Catalog. Audited courses do not count for any degree requirements.
Academic Standing
Academic probation and dismissal determinations are made based on your academic standing at the end of the spring semester. Dismissed students will have their Summer Session enrollment cancelled, even if they have begun a course. Learn more...
Graduation
If your Summer Session course is the final credit needed to complete a degree requirement, you will be considered a summer graduate.

Summer Session courses are not considered in determining fall or spring full-time status.
