From in-room equipment like MicroFridges and futons to bike locker rentals and guest rooms for visiting friends, learn how you can take advantage of everything the UE Office of Residence Life has for rental or purchase.
MicroFridge Rentals
Cost: $99 per year plus a $30 deposit
In order to save space in you room, the Resident Students Association has made special arrangements to offer MicroFridges for rental in our residence halls.
Each unit contains a full freezer, a refrigerator, and a 600-watt microwave – all while taking up only 2.9 cubic feet. You can pre-order your fridge and have it delivered to your new room before move in; units also are available on move-in day but quantities are limited.
Order by August 12 for in-room delivery. Pre-ordered MicroFridges will be delivered to rooms on Tuesday, August 20. Students can pick up late orders for fridges and Futons at posted dates.
Spring Collection Information
Because students leave at different times, we need to collect Microfridges prior to the start of finals. The scheduled Spring return date is on Reading and Study Day, Wednesday, April 30, 2014. Return your MicroFridge to the Basketball Court between Hale and Hughes Halls between 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Please prepare Microfridges 24 hours prior to return: Unplug, Defrost, Clean and Dry your refrigerator. Failure to follow this procedure will result in the loss of your deposit. Responsibility for returning the product rests with you. If you can not make this schedule, a friend or roommate may return it for you. Improper return will result in you being billed $50.00 (per the rental agreement you signed). The replacement cost for unreturned refrigerators is $400.00.
Bike Lockers
Students wishing to bring a bicycle to campus will find outdoor bike lockers available on campus.
For a rental fee of $60 per year, students can store a bicycle in one of these sheltered lockers. Contact the Office of Residence Life at 812-488-2956 by August 1 to put your name in the bike locker lottery drawing.
RSA Linen Program
Beds in the University of Evansville’s residence halls come in two different sizes; as such, we want to ensure that students arrive on campus with the right size sheets to fit their new bed.
Resident Student Association has partnered with Residence Hall Linens to help incoming students order all of their campus living needs. Residence Hall Linens provide students and families with a convenient, affordable way to ensure that you have sheets that will fit any of the mattresses in our residence halls – those with the standard bed sizes, and those in Moore, Hale, and Morton/Brentano halls with extra-long mattresses (36” x 80”). The company also provides other campus living needs that you may need, including comforters, matching towels, and storage items.
Proceeds from any Residence Hall Linens purchase goes to RSA and is used to support UE students via programming in the residence halls. Place an order and have it delivered to your home during the summer.
Guest Rooms
Guest rooms on the UE campus are reserved for guests of current residents, people with an academic purpose on the campus, and visiting alumni. Rooms are reserved on a first come, first served basis.
Guest room rates are $25/night for one person and $35/night for two people. Payment is due at the time of reservation; cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance to get a refund. Cash, check, Visa or MasterCard are accepted for payment.
You can reserve a guest room by calling the Office of Residence Life at 812-488-2956 or coming to the residence life office in Ridgway University Center. Check-In and Check-Out is at the Office of Safety and Security.
Note: Linens are not provided for guest rooms; please bring your own sheets, towels, and pillows.
