Costs of Attendance Budgets

For 2012-2013

Your Cost of Attendance (COA) is not what you will be charged by the University of Evansville. Rather, it is a figure that is used in financial aid eligibility calculations; furthermore, it is the maximum total financial aid (including student and parent loans) that you are allowed to have for this year.

The COA represents both the charges that are directly billed by the University (such as tuition, fees, room, and meal plan), plus allowances for indirect expenses that you may pay on your own (such as books, personal, and transportation costs). Some families choose to overpay our directly-billed charges (usually with loans) so that they may have excess funds to assist them with their indirect educational expenses. Students whose financial aid results in a credit balance, work with the Office of Student Accounts to process the refund.

Knowing your COA is especially important for students applying for a private loan: they must complete a Self-Certification Form indicating the amount of the UE COA, the student's financial aid, and the difference between the two.
