2011 Veterans Day Celebration
Friday, November 4
7:05 p.m. - Aces Basketball "Military Appreciation Night" - Ford Center, downtown Evansville
The University of Evansville Men's Basketball in collaboration with the Tri-State Military Resource Network is proud to recognize veterans, current service members, and their families for a special night of Aces Basketball!
Special ticket prices for veterans, current service members, and their families: $8.00 for adults; $5.00 for youth/seniors (65+). Present proof of military service at the Ford Center or Carson Center ticket windows to receive special ticket prices. Community resources who offer support to veterans, current service members and their families will be represented.

Write your words of encouragement to soldiers deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.
11:00 am - 12:00 pm - Veterans Day Celebration Service - Eykamp Hall room 251, Ridgway University Center
The campus community, alumni and friends are invited to celebrate Veterans Day at our special service.
UE alumnus and Marine veteran, John MacCauley will lead the Pledge of Allegiance. The key note speaker will be Dr. James MacLeod, UE Professor of History. His presentation is entitled, "That Their Names Be Not Forgotten" The Role of Remembrance in the 21st Century". Music selections will be performed by students and faculty from the UE Department of Music and the Evansville Firefighters Pipes and Drums Corp.
A luncheon reception will immediately follow on the second floor of Ridgway University Center.
1:00-2:00 pm - UE's Military History Project - Eykamp Hall room 253, Ridgway University Center
Senior archaeology major, Elizabeth Bostelman, will present her research titled, "UE's Military History Project - An historical account of the UE campus community from the Civil War through the Afghanistan & Iraq Wars".
Sunday, November 13
8:00 am - Vets Day 5K Walk, Run, Roll - LST Landing Ship Memorial Grounds, downtown Evansville
The race and after-race family festival is sponsored by student veteran organizations from University of Evansville, University of Southern Indiana and Ivy Tech Community College. Proceeds from the race will be donated to Lucas Place II - housing for homeless disabled veterans in Vanderburgh County.
