I am originally from Chicago, Illinois, where I was born and raised. Growing up in a rough environment, I always knew I wanted to explore the world and visit other cities and states outside of Chicago. It was in Chicago where I cultivated my interested in learning more about history and the Africa diaspora. Both my educational interest and longing to explore the world granted me the privilege to obtain my B.A. from Cornell University in 2017. After this experience, I chose to continue my education back home at University of Chicago, where I obtained my Master of Divinity. Life has awarded me a lot of great opportunities. Now, after meeting my lovely wife and moving to Evansville, Indiana, I work as an admission counselor at the University of Evansville. I have been given the opportunity to help students have a similar experience that I have had, and to help further their education and explore their future aspirations. This is one of the greatest ways for me to give back. One of my main goals in life is to be an inspiration to the aspirations of students, friends, and families that I meet.
Do not be afraid to ask questions. The more questions you ask the better you will be equipped for college, applications, and life in general. Also, do everything you can to visit campus. It is one thing to read online and learn from others about college, but it is another thing to actually be on the campus and to take everything in for yourself. A visit could be the deciding factor of where you choose to mature and further your education.
