Introduction to the Symphony

Would you like to attend a concert, but don’t know what to expect? Experience the joy of the symphony with this fun, four-session workshop. This relaxing and enriching class will require only your time – no reading, textbook, or homework required!

This course includes:

  • Basic musical concepts
  • An introduction to all the orchestra instruments
  • Typical movements for classical symphony
  • Changes and innovations
  • Discussion about the symphony as a nonprofit organization from the director of the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra
  • Tour of The Victory Theatre
Dates February 23 and March 2, 9, and 16, 2013*
Time: 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Location: Room 119, Hyde Hall on the University of Evansville campus with the final session at The Victory Theatre
