Update - March 27, 2020 for Harlaxton Students

Room and Board Refund Policy for Harlaxton Students

Dear Harlaxton Students, Parents, and Partners,

I understand that the world we live in today is much different than the one of two weeks ago. I know how difficult the stress and disruptions to this semester have been for students and families. Please know you have been foremost in our hearts and minds. For the last few weeks, our team at the University of Evansville has been focusing on our students’ return home, transitioning to online instruction, and many other changes to help our students, faculty, and staff. We have committed to timely updates and have sent out several communications in the past week, including:

  • Communication on how to request reimbursement for changed flights and other expenses due to early departures from the Manor
  • The pass/ fail option for Harlaxton classes
  • Communication about your health and the health of the community
  • The process for reporting any positive COVID-19 results

We have also been working diligently on a plan to credit room and board expenses. The University of Evansville will refund room and board charges for the Spring 2020 semester on a pro-rata basis, calculated as of March 15, 2020, as defined below.

  • For University of Evansville students, the pro-rata refund will be applied to any outstanding balance with the University of Evansville or Harlaxton College. Any remaining credit balance will be refunded to the student. Students may elect to apply such refund to tuition, room and board charges for the Fall 2020 semester.

    • Please complete the form to elect a refund or a credit for the Fall 2020 semester room and board.
    • Refunds will be processed by April 15, 2020, to the bank account on file with the Office of Student Financial Services. Students may verify or make changes to their bank account information in the Student Menu of WebAdvisor. If no bank account information is available, a paper check will be mailed to the student’s permanent home address.
    • If you have further questions about housing and dining credits, email StudentFinancialServices@evansville.edu. You can also visit our COVID-19 webpage for the latest information at www.evansville.edu/coronavirus.
  • For any students from partner colleges and universities, the pro-rata refund will be applied to any outstanding balance with the University of Evansville or Harlaxton College. Any remaining credit balance will be refunded to the partner college or university. Students should consult with their home college or university for disbursement details.

We want you to stay connected wherever you are, and know we are here for you. Over the course of the last few weeks, we have made several important decisions – and always with the best interests of our students. Though you are not at Harlaxton College, we are most certainly here and available to help. Should you have any questions about our residence reimbursement policy or any other matter that arises, please let us know.

Wishing you a Happy Purple Friday.

Christopher M. Pietruszkiewicz
