Restaurants are scattered throughout the city, but students can walk just a couple of blocks from the University of Evansville campus to have a meal at Turoni's Pizzery & Brewery. The local business has been serving pizza in Evansville since 1963.

Big Bang Mongolian Grill offers a style of stir-fry which allows diners to pick their own ingredients and sauce, assembling a dish which is customized to their tastes. Mongolian Grill is prepared on a very large and extremely hot griddle. Diners pick out the vegetables and meats they want, along with a sauce, and the cook tosses the ingredients on the griddle and fries them. Many people like Mongolian Grill because they enjoy having control over the content of their plates. This is especially true for people who are picky, as it allows them to create a custom dish which caters to their desires. Bru Burger, an Indy favorite from Mass Ave., is now open in Evansville, but it has a whole new look than other locations—it is inside a completely renovated Greyhound Bus Station building that stood empty for a decade. Now, it is am popular downtown destination. Burgers are famous with salads and appetizers. All are freshly made on site daily. Open for lunch and dinner seven days a week. DiLegge’s Restaurant is a little bit of Italy on North Main Street in Evansville, Indiana. Featuring both Italian and American Cuisine, DiLegge’s is family owned and operated by Dan DiLegge and his sister Gina and celebrating 30 years in business in 2016! DiLegge’s features a full bar and indoor seating for 80, with an outdoor patio seating up to 25 people. All of the Italian recipes featured at DiLegge’s are from old family recipes, handed down from generation-to-generation, and lovingly preserved by Dan and Gina. Dilegge’s was the first Italian restaurant to feature “baked ziti” and fettuccine alfredo, and both remain fan favorites and signature dishes today.

The Slice is a favorite hangout among UE students. Located 0.2 miles from campus, many students walk over to The Slice to grab a slice of pizza with friends. The slice offers traditional and untraditional flavors that can be ordered by-the-slice.

At Spudz ‘N Stuff, we search far and wide for the finest spices and meats that this fine country has to offer. The potatoes are picked and each one inspected for perfection. We use fully authentic Amoroso rolls shipped in from the bakeries in Philadelphia. Our cheese comes from the happiest cows on Earth made fresh, and contains no fillers. When you combine all this with our awesome employees it makes for one unforgettable spud!

Turoni's pizza has been made in Evansville for over three decades, yet never before has the recipe been reproduced by commercial establishments because of the difficulties involved in preparation. Turoni's has been able to overcome these difficulties to share with you a freshly made pizza crust that is crisp and light enough to hold our secret sauce, gobs of gooey mozzarella cheese, and your favorite ingredients (including a few exotic ones) to make what we call "Our Specialty", Turoni's thin crust pizza. Walton’s is a favorite dining spot for many on Haynie’s Corner. Walton’s features brick oven baked pizza, barbeque, sandwiches, and Asian Pho rice bowls. Outdoor seating is available, and they serve a special breakfast menu on Saturdays and Sundays.

Lic’s, abbreviated for Lloyd’s Ice Cream Shoppes, was established in 1950 in Evansville, Indiana, where ice cream was made in the back room of one small retail store, which has since grown to eight locations. Lic’s believes their customers can taste the difference between frozen, packaged food and fresh, original recipe food. A tremendous amount of preparation goes into serving the tastiest ice cream and deli food in town.

Milk and Sugar is one of Franklin Streets many treasures. With 50 flavors to anticipate, 16 will be offered at any given time. Zanzibar chocolate, a decadently black mixture resembling frozen brownie batter and first place trophy winner at the World Dairy Expo, along with the award winning Old Fashioned Vanilla will always be available.
