Hannah Richards: Current Honors Program Student Profile
What is your major?
What is your home city/state?
Why did you choose to attend UE?
My senior year of high school, I was extremely torn between UE and another university. Evansville was almost five hours away, and I didn’t know anyone that had gone to school here. In the end, I chose the University of Evansville because although it was far from home, it felt like home. Everyone on campus was completely genuine, and I could tell that the professors and advisors here truly wanted to see me succeed. I love UE because you can always find a friendly face in the crowd and a new opportunity around the corner.
Why did you choose to participate in the Honors Program?
I chose to participate in the Honors Program to further develop a sense of belonging within UE and find peers with a similar academic drive.
What do you enjoy most about the Honors Program?
The Honors Program has provided truly interesting coursework and meaningful relationships with peers and professors.
What advice would you give to future UE honors students?
I would tell honors freshman to take advantage of contracting classes for honors credit. This is such a convenient way to mesh the program curriculum with your required major coursework.
What has been your favorite Honors class so far, and why?
My favorite honors class thus far has been my First Year Seminar. Having FYS with other honors students right away was a perfect way to be introduced to my future classmates and friends.
What are your plans/goals following graduation?
Following graduation, I plan to matriculate into dental school and receive my Doctorate in Dental Medicine.
