So far, my experience here in Evansville has been great! The people here are really friendly and the staff are willing to help and talk with you when you have a problem. There are so many events and activities to participate and I had to keep on telling myself that I cannot go to every single one of them! Living here is a different experience in itself. This is not the first time I lived in boarding school; I lived in one for high school in Mt. Calvary, Wisconsin. So living in a dorm thousands of miles away from home is not a new concept for me. However, I do know that the people I will meet here are going to be people I could have not met anywhere else but here and I am happy for these opportunities. The advice that I want to share is one I follow: Keep track of dates. I personally use Post-it notes and place around my desk so I know when and where is something happening. The most favorite thing I enjoy here is eating in the Café Court with my friends and talking about random topics like classes and hobbies.

Small classes, a friendly environment and passionate professors are the first things that come to mind when someone asks me about the University of Evansville. UE provides students with exceptional educational experiences and the ability and confidence to succeed in life. I am majoring in accounting, and all of my professors are amazing. They not only are passionate about their teaching but also have experience working as accountants, therefore, they teach us based on their real-life experiences not just theories. I also attend Accounting Club, where we meet a lot of professional accountants, and begin to understand their experiences. Many of them are UE alumni, who have achieved high positions and inform us of their experiences. Meeting them helps me learn how to stand apart from other accountants in the job search and professional environment. Professors also advise us to take the CPA exam. Additionally, UE has a great setup for career preparation and placement. Every experience I have had at UE is remarkable. Attending the University of Evansville is one of the best decisions that I have ever made.

I am a junior double majoring in accounting and management with a minor in Spanish. After spending two years at UE and having taken various business courses, I can tell you that University of Evansville has a very strong business program. Each course combines both theoretical and practical tasks, which facilitate to a better understanding of the subject. For example, for a project in my marketing class, I created an advertising campaign for a local restaurant.

With more than 120 organizations on campus, each student can find something he or she is interested in. Participating in different clubs helps me to improve my leadership and communication skills. International diversity makes UE a very special place. Being the first and the only student from Tajikistan at the University of Evansville provides me with a great opportunity to be the first person to share interesting facts about my country and our culture with other students.

The University of Evansville is having a big impact on me. While providing an exceptional education, UE teaches me how to implement my knowledge in real life. The University of Evansville offers a great educational environment, which motivates students to do their best to become successful individuals in the future.

Coming to UE has been the best decision I have made in my life so far. Being a sports enthusiast especially in soccer, UE has given me ample opportunities to explore my passion in sports. I am an athletic training major, with a minor in business. As an athletic training major I have been exposed to a variety of different sports as well as NCAA Division I athletes. Now, I get to see what happens on as well as off the sports field.

UE’s intramural sports also gives me a chance to play some of the sports I enjoy and even try out the ones that are new for me. Since I come from a different country, UE has made me feel at home starting day one. I thought it would be difficult at first to fit in, but the second I stepped foot on campus, I haven’t regretted a single moment that I have spent there, and am proud being part of UE.

Here at UE, the academic environment shapes my intellectual outcomes through challenging courses and collaborative professors. This is critical for my future success.

Although I am a political science major, I have the opportunity to take liberal arts and science courses like chemistry, law, music, and foreign language. Having an understanding of other elements of education is necessary in expanding my general knowledge. From the beginning, my professors at UE have challenged me, and they have also provided me with the guidance necessary to succeed.

My involvement in different clubs at UE has broadened my horizon and worldviews. Participating in different clubs makes UE a special place. Through these activities, I am able to share my culture while learning about others. Sometimes balancing my time between clubs and class can be challenging, but I learned the skill of time management.

My love for music, especially singing, has been further propelled by amazing professors who endlessly offer help and advice whenever I need it. Some go beyond what a professor is required to do, and I am more than thankful that these professors are here for me. University Choir and Kantorei are the two major ensembles that I am in. These are great platforms for students to showcase their talents, as well as to learn to work closely as part of a team. We also get opportunities to perform off-campus, sometimes in professional groups, to prepare ourselves for the future.

Because of UE’s teacher-student ratio, we get more attention from our professors, enhancing our learning experience. I also appreciate the diversity that we have on campus and the support we get from our international coordinators, who make UE feel like home away from home. Thanks to UE, the people I've met, some I'd call friends for life, have all contributed in making my study abroad experience great.

Being a mechanical engineering major at UE has been an adventure. UE engineering courses are distinct because the University mixes STEM courses with the liberal arts. This is a great opportunity because it allows me to expand my interests and knowledge.

As a sophomore, I am applying shop skills and critical thinking to produce results. Recently, I joined a senior thermo siphon project. This opportunity not only helps me complete the requirement for my integrated design course, but also prepares me for the upcoming year.

As an international student from a country undergoing change, I was able to share different experiences with my classmates. As one of the first students from Myanmar at UE, I usually take a leading role in representing my country. At this year’s International Bazaar, two other students and I will present Myanmar and Burmese food.

I am a freshman at the University of Evansville. During the past academic year, I learned many things, such as life skills and academic knowledge. I am so proud to say that the classes and professors at UE are just awesome. Classes are small, so professors know their students well.

My first economic professor was so kind. He knew that I might encounter some English difficulties, so he patiently answered my questions and took the time to explain each lecture in detail.

Besides classroom lectures, UE provides many opportunities, including visits from successful business leaders, such as Calvin Klein. These opportunities allow students to ask questions and get real world advice.

Outside of the classroom it is important to get involved on campus. There are many clubs and organizations to join; last year I went on several activities with UE’s outdoors club. Being involved allows you to make friends and learn more about different cultures.

I hope to see you at UE!
