Bachelor of Arts in Archaeology
UE's BA in Archaeology offers students an excellent liberal arts education, preparing them for success in graduate school or a career in the professional arena
Archaeology is the study of past human activity in the broadest sense. The archaeology major focuses on this discipline and the ancient civilizations of the Mediterranean, Near East, and Western Europe – not North America, Mesoamerica, or sub-Saharan Africa.
The interdisciplinary nature of the major provides an excellent liberal arts education, as well as the necessary preparation to attend graduate school or other professional schools. In addition, Evansville's archaeology students are able to pursue a double major and minor in other areas of study. Our archaeology students often complement their studies with course work in anthropology, history, religion, or art history as well as advanced classes in languages or sciences related to archaeology.
