Computer and Library Resources

Students will benefit from a variety of computer and library resources while at UE. An innovative tool for study and research in the ancient classical world is available via Argos, an Internet search device linked only to selected, peer-reviewed scholarly indices of information on the ancient world. Created by UE Associate Professor Anthony Beavers, this LASE (Limited Area Search Engine) is the first of its kind and enables students of antiquity to access the latest archaeological and scholarly discoveries with speed and efficiency.

In addition, all students in the program have access to the Thesaurus Language Graecae et Latinae, a computerized database and search engine, encompassing almost all ancient Greek and Latin literature. Moreover, inter-library agreements link UE's growing classical studies collection to other Indiana libraries, including the University of Notre Dame and Indiana University.
