Dr. Amy Hall is the White Family Endowed Professor and Chair of the Dunigan Family Department of Nursing and Health Sciences at the University of Evansville. She is both internationally and nationally recognized in the field of nursing as the co-author of “Basic Nursing” and “Fundamentals of Nursing” textbooks published by Mosby-Yearbook-Elsevier. While serving as the Chair of the Nursing Department at UE she has been awarded the White Family Endowed Professor of Nursing in recognition of her excellent contributions to nursing education as well as acknowledging her achievements in leading her faculty, staff and students with humor, dedication and compassion.
Dr. Hall is very active in creating nursing clinical experiences in the U.K. as part of the Harlaxton Study Abroad program and in China with combined emphasis on nursing and health services administration. She has also incorporated advanced technology into the UE nursing program by introducing students and faculty to e-books, use of the iPod Touch (to access nursing references such as pharmacology information used at clinical sites), Turning Point and Nearpod interaction software in the classrooms, and simulation technology in the Dunigan Nursing Labs.
Outside of work Dr. Hall serves on the Board of Directors for the Evansville Region American Red Cross, is a volunteer for the Boy Scout of America, is an active volunteer at her church and also serves as a team chair and/or member for nursing program evaluation site visits for the NLNAC. For relaxation, she enjoys cooking gourmet meals for her family, hunting for cheeses in the U.S. and Europe, and running half marathons.
