Cindy currently teaches the senior nursing students and specializes in public health and complex medical/surgical practice. Cindy has practiced nursing in different areas that include medical surgical, oncology, radiation therapy, cardiac intensive care, clinical research, and public health.

Cindy is involved with community committees which include the Community First Health Fair planning committee, St. Anthony Center for Family Life, the Perinatal Advisory Board, and the Fetal Infant Mortality Committee. Regionally, she is a member of the Mid-West Clinicians Network and an active member of the Research committee and co-chair a NIH grant that involves conducting diabetes research at the community health center level. Other research projects include health literacy, obesity interventions, use of the Care Model, care of vulnerable populations such as the Latino population, and diabetes care coordination. She is currently working on a research project that involves developing diabetes group visit in the Community Health Center setting.
