PHRL Seminars

PHRL 459 courses are one-credit, small, text seminars built around provocative texts that connect in one way or another to issues involving truth, meaning, and value. Generally, at least three of these are offered each semester, and they may be taught by any member of the Department of Philosophy and Religion.

One purpose of offering these seminars as one-credit options is to help students in heavy-credit majors make progress toward the minor in heavy-credit semesters. TMV minor students may take up to six of these toward the minor.

Eligible PHRL seminars may count toward major and minor requirements in philosophy or religion depending on their content. If you are interested in having a PHRL seminar count among your philosophy or religion requirements, please check with the program coordinator about eligibility.
