Cataloging and Technical Services Associate
The University of Evansville invites applications for a Cataloging and Technical Services Associate to support the library’s cataloging, classification, and technical service operations. This full-time, benefits-eligible position requires a detail-oriented individual who can work independently while ensuring library resources are accurately represented and accessible to patrons. The ideal candidate will have experience in library cataloging and a commitment to fostering an inclusive library collection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and process physical library materials.
- Perform copy cataloging and update records.
- Classify materials by applying or creating call numbers.
- Withdraw outdated or damaged materials and perform basic book repairs.
- Organize and maintain the technical services area.
- Create monthly budget summaries for library acquisitions.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience: Prior knowledge of library cataloging is highly valued, including tasks such as copy cataloging, classifying items, or updating MARC or OCLC records.
- Preferred Skills: Basic accounting experience is a plus.
