Village Assignments

The Village housing process offers UE's upper-class students a variety of housing options adjacent to the University of Evansville campus. The majority of these units are four-person occupancy; however, additional units are available for single and two-person occupancy.

More information on specific village units can be found in the Upper-Class-Only Housing Options section.

The Villages are reserved primarily for students with 60+ credit hours. To apply to live in the Villages, each person in your group must have at least 44 credit hours on file with the University by the end of the previous fall semester. Limited space is reserved in Jones Hall for rising sophomore students and is explained in the Sophomore Options section.

Assignments are made based on the combined earned credit hours of the group, coupled with the need to fill all available village housing. Please note that while Village units are available to upperclassmen, there is not adequate space to house all students requesting placement in these areas.

Assignment Process

  • Village Request Cards Available (Monday, February 26 – March 1): Groups meeting the above criteria can pick up village requests cards from the Office of Residence Life.

  • Village Request Cards Due (Friday, March 1): Completely fill out and turn in your Village request card to the Office of Residence Life no later than 5:00 p.m. Late requests will not be accepted.

    • Note: Please fill out a variety of occupancy configurations, so as not to lose out on village housing if your preferred configuration is not available. For example, if you have four people in your group, fill out both a request card for a four-person unit, and also two, two-person request cards.

  • Village Occupancy Assignments Emailed (March 18)

  • Village Placements will be assigned by Residence Life Staff based on returned Village Request Cards; taking into consideration the preferences indicated on the Village Request Cards and the need to fill available Village housing.

* Students must have submitted all required materials to be assigned housing. Required materials include a contract and registration via Self-Service as well as any additional registration materials (i.e. request cards for New Residence Hall and/or Villages, Village supplemental agreements, etc.). Individual housing preferences will be taken into consideration as well as the availability of space for 2024-2025. The University reserves the right to make or change assignments, assign a new roommate, or consolidate spaces at any point in the academic year bases on the needs of the program.
