Scholarship Opportunity for Army ROTC Cadets
The University of Evansville offers enhanced scholarship opportunities for Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) cadets. Cadets who have received an ROTC full tuition award of four, three or two years are eligible to receive coverage of the charges for UE on-campus housing and meal plan through scholarship and/or grant funds.
Currently, there are two types of ROTC scholarships available to UE students, active duty scholarships and reserve component scholarships. The ROTC scholarship benefits are the same for both as follows: full tuition plus fees, $1200 a year for books and a $300 to $500 monthly stipend, with UE ensuring coverage of on-campus housing and meals.
Active duty scholarships are four-year awards and are the most competitive. A limited number of awards are available through the Wabash Valley Battalion, of which UE is a member. Reserve component scholarships are awarded for three or two years, starting the sophomore year, and are an opportunity for current UE students, as well as students transferring to the University. Award requirements, including obligation to the U.S. Army in the Active, Guard, or Reserve component upon degree completion, vary with each scholarship.
The ROTC is an elective curriculum taken with required college classes. It provides leadership training and prepares students for careers as a U.S. military officer in the Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marine Corps. Students are eligible for up to full-tuition, merit-based scholarships and other financial assistance.
