Upon admission into the PhD in Health Professions Education program, you will be assigned an academic advisor. Your advisor will meet with you regularly to provide support and guidance as you progress through the program. Your advisor will assist you in the selection of a dissertation chair and committee which best fits your research agenda and goals.

The culmination of the PhD in Health Professions Education program is the completion and successful defense of the dissertation. The scope of the dissertation should be a unique contribution of high scholarly merit leading to new understanding and applications to their discipline. The student is expected to use and apply knowledge in innovative ways to extend the knowledge and practice of their profession.
