Academics At UE

Since 1854, the University of Evansville has maintained a rich tradition of academic excellence and our academic reputation has continued to be strong worldwide, as evidenced by familiar college rankings, such as those done by U.S. News and World Report. Committed to the liberal arts and sciences as a basis for intellectual and personal growth, the University is aware of the challenges of living in an international community and has adopted a global emphasis for its programs of study. Emphasizing high quality, personalized undergraduate and selected graduate education, it supports an array of liberal arts and sciences and professional programs, and is considered a comprehensive masters level institution for higher education. Because education is a lifelong process of critical inquiry, the University is also committed to adult and continuing education for the greater community.

As part of the global mission of the University, students are encouraged to study at Harlaxton College, the British campus of the University of Evansville. This "College in a Castle" allows students the opportunity to learn, experience, and live within an international context. This is integrative learning at its best. Students also have other study abroad program options through the University.

The learning mission of UE is to deliver academic excellence in order to provide life-transforming experiences. We focus on student achievement and success, faculty development and support, active and collaborative learning, student engagement, and the lifelong pursuit of truth and meaning. Our four academic goals are:

  1. To provide distinctive academic experiences
  2. To provide a holistic learning environment
  3. To attract and support outstanding faculty
  4. To create a culture of student success
