Why did I choose UE?

From the moment I stepped on campus, I felt like this is where I belonged. I fell in love with the beautiful campus and also liked that UE is a smaller campus with small class sizes. I also love the welcoming environment UE provides. I am from a very small town, and although Evansville is a larger city, it still reminds me of home. I knew I was interested in going into healthcare and UE had a wide variety of majors to suit my needs. I declared Health Services Administration as my major second semester of my freshman year and could not be happier with my decision!

What is my favorite thing about UE?

My favorite thing about UE is the experience. When you come to UE, you get to experience such a variety of things. For example, there are such an array of clubs and organizations on campus, sports, Greek life, a variety of majors, and so much more. I play softball here at UE, but I am also involved in other clubs and organizations on campus. Also, since UE is a smaller university, there is a familiar face everywhere you turn. This really embodies what UE is about and we all come together to make our experience one to never forget!

Helpful information about my major (HSA) or advice

My biggest advice would be to find what you passionate about and then find what careers are related to that. For me that was realizing that I am passionate about healthcare and business, which ultimately led me to my major, Health Services Administration. Don’t major in something just because everyone is doing it or because your friends and family say to. Only you truly know what makes you happy and what career you want to pursue for the rest of your life. Also, for those wanting to enter the HSA program, I highly recommend doing the combined BS/MS degree UE offers. This is an amazing program and will set you up very well for your future!
